Concept definition
You have a direction, a problem, or a market gap, but not yet a product. I translate briefs, references, and constraints into a clear design language: from user studies to sketches, volume explorations, inspirational boards, and a written product narrative that can align your team or brief a manufacturer.
Product development
From a validated concept to a geometry ready for engineering or prototyping. I develop the 3D form in detail, working through ergonomics, proportions, assembly logic, and material intent, maintaining design coherence across every decision.
Each drive head evolved for a specific purpose. Design works the same way, using the method suited to the task, rather than a fixed process applied everywhere, is what makes a result reliable, cohesive and strong.
3D visualisation
Photorealistic renders, animations, or scene compositions for communication, investment decks, or pre-production validation. Based on existing geometry or developed from reference.
CMF direction
Colour, material, and finish decisions are where many products lose coherence. I define a CMF* strategy that fits the product's positioning, production constraints, and target audience, with supplier references and specification documents your team can act on. *Colours, Materials & Finishes
A screw's function is to hold separate parts together under tension. A designer's role inside a project is similar, connecting R&D, management, marketing and communication around a shared direction, rather than working in isolation.
Design audit
A structured review of an existing product or range. I assess form, usability, material choices, and brand coherence, and deliver a documented set of recommendations your team can prioritise and act on.
Full project partnership
If you need end-to-end support, from initial brief through to production follow-up, I can take on the full design lead role, coordinating with your engineers, suppliers, and manufacturers throughout.
A well-designed screw is mechanically secure, but never permanent, as it can be removed, reused, replaced. That's the standard I hold my own practice to: design for durability and repair, not disposability.
